The Ontario Curriculum requires students in grade 1 to be able to "relate numbers to the anchors of 5 and 10
(e.g., 7 is 2 more than 5 and 3 less than 10)". Today, we used five-frames to help us see and understand when a number is more than 5 or less than 5. Then we had to tell how many more or how many less than 5.
